A new finish of an old quilt!
-
This was one of the very first quilt tops I made, way back in 2010. I look at it now and my style has changed quite a bit I think.
The crazy colours were there for me though -- right from the beginning.
So I finally got around to sending this out to be quilted (Thanks Tina!). Quilting something this big (a large twin) is just not an exercise in frustration I wanted to be involved in.
I don't think I have even the smallest scrap of any of these fabrics left anymore. Perhaps that's not a bad thing ...
My daughter Tess loves it though and it looks perfect on her pink bed in her mulberry/purple room.
And just for fun, here's some rare behind-the-scenes footage ... my husband is quite cooperative.

I love this and have always thought you had a great sense of color and patterns. I wish I was braver in my color choices. Your quilts always have a very "free and wild" look to them that is very appealing. I admit that I like this better then the selvage ones. I just can't get excited about a lot of words all over my quilts, but I do love the Halloween funny ones you have made! I guess we all have our style and that is what makes quilting so great. It 's such a wonderful creative activity and shows off each personality!
Love your heart quilt! Something about red just does it for me.
