A few weeks ago I was out fabric shopping at Marden's in Calais, Maine (my favourite fabric place!) I had no plan in mind about what I might want/need, but ...
... then I saw all this crazy, colourful, bold Brandon Mably fabric -- just my thing!
I had never seen any of this fabric "in person" before and it was kind of WOW. The store had a huge selection from various older lines so I started filling my cart. I bought 1/2 yards of almost every bolt they had. I think I got 29 different fabrics. (At $4.99/yard the price was right)
This is the first time I've ever made a quilt with fabric all from one designer, but I had so much of it there was really no reason to add in anything else!
Those are 6 inch squares.
It is almost done here, it just needs the rows sewn together.

And on another topic, thank you everyone so so much for all the congrats about my novel being shortlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize. I am still just so thrilled.

Riel! I didn't know your book had been shortlisted!! How fantastic is that!! Your quilt is pretty darn amazing as well. :-).
WOW! an incredible punch of colour that would put any "white" decor into shock! I love this and the great assortments. Congrats on a great deal and superb quilt.
That so totally looks like the tablecloth on my dining room table! I have a plethora of Brandon and Kaffe fabrics, so I cut them into 6" squares and made a tablecloth topper for my dining room table (we're casual here). Made pillows for the sofa from the leftovers last week.
You're a woman after my own heart. Tee hee!
WOW! You've outdone yourself this time girl lol! Those are some wild brights :)
Hey, you have "fish lips"!!--I think that's the name of that one with the green circle surrounded by orange/red. Did you get the selvage? I have it in a different colorway and almost didn't use it. But I did, and was glad about it.
Eek! I just read about your novel and the Commonwealth Book Prize. I'm SOOO excited for you. That book is so worthy of the nomination!
P.S. I'm mentioning it on my post on Thursday.
:-) Thanks so much everyone. Trying to stay away from the computer and my fabric the best I can to get more writing on the new novel done ... we'll see ...
Wow! I love Brandon Mably and Kaffe Fassett but haven't used any of their fabrics!
