Selvage Mini Mummies Halloween Wall Hanging Quilt Done

Here's what became of the selvage mini mummies I showed the other day.
I turned them into a little Halloween wall hanging.
I chose some of my most bold and busy Halloween fabrics to border them with.  The little mummies would have probably stood out more with slightly plainer fabrics, but I made this basically for the kids to enjoy -- and for them, the crazier the better.
I quilted it very simply with straight lines around the squares.  I used orange thread.
According to the kids, from the top down, these mummies represent Tess, Eli, me and Shane.
Here it is hanging with the original selvage mummy.  It won't stay there, but in a funny coincidence, look how the length of it is almost exactly the same as the big mummy.  I didn't measure.  It just worked out that way.  Pretty cool.
Here's what that part of the house looks like ... or at least for the few seconds it took me to click a picture :-) ... believe me the kids will be sure that it doesn't look like that for long.
And I had a few questions about how I did the eyes.  This is the fabric I used.  You can see where I fussy cut from it.  The fabric is from a Canadian fabric chain called Fabricville/Fabricland.  The eyes actually glow in the dark.

It looks great, Riel! And I love how perfectly it goes with the Selvage Mummy. I'm hosting TGIFF! this Friday. It would be great if you could link this up. I think it'll be different from anything else we'll have. Very cool!

Still loving those mummies! I'll have to check out our local Fabricland to see if they've got some of that eye fabric. So creative to think of using it that way! Thanks for linking up to TGIFF! Riel!

I do NOT know how I missed this post!! Wow, these are the coolest (don't tell Mama Mummy-- I don't want her getting mad at me) but these little guys are just adorable!

Is that "eyeball" fabric still available somewhere??
