Bloggers Quilt Festival Entry: Guess Who?

Yes, it's the selvage mummy.  If you visit the blog regularly, feel free to groan.  I know he's had more than his fair share of screen time, BUT this is my favourite thing I've made lately and my favourite selvage quilt ever, so it had to be my Bloggers Quilt Festival Entry -- especially since the festival coincides with Halloween.
The quilt is a large wall quilt, 46 inches square.  It is my own idea, design and execution.  It is free pieced (the mummy is pieced into the background).  Making this had PLENTY of frustrating moments, but it was 100% worth it in the end.
The letters are made of selvages too.
-
I quilted it myself with an all-over angular stipple.  It was my first attempt doing anything beyond straight line quilting and I was nervous attempting it, but I think it turned out well.
In this pic you can see the mini mummy wall hanging I made to go with the big mummy.
-
Thanks for stopping by! I am off to the International Festival of Authors in Toronto to read from The Town That Drowned.  Should be fun !!!  I'll see you in November.

Aaah, this is too cool! I worked with selvages, too, but haven´t thought about such a pictorial design. Very clever. I like the mummy´s eyes and the letters.

I love your original Mummy quilt and it's wonderful that it is made with selvages! The set looks great on the wall. I also have to mention that your novel, The Town That Drowned was a wonderful story! I have enjoyed reading it so much and I did end up sharing it with my students. It has a waiting list in my classroom.

This quilt is the best! It almost makes me want to save selvages for a quilt instead of using them to tie up my tomatoes. Well, almost.

I've visited and I've seen him before but frankly, I cannot get enough of him. He's by far my favorite "selvage" quilt I've see with snowmen being a close second. He's just fun and the caption, perfect. :D
