A Charming Discovery

A while back I found this Pampered Pooch charm pack at a yard sale. The fabrics are cute, colourful, and have nice small patterns on them.

It only takes a second to evenly divide a charm into four little squares.

These little squares are just the perfect size to make into 1 inch hexies without any further cutting or trimming.

They sew up super quick.

And they accumulate!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all these yet, but sewing them from charm squares makes getting to this point speed right along! (I'm sure others have discovered this too, but if I hadn't already had this charm pack just hanging out in my stash, I don't know that it would have occurred to me.)

Our provincial election is tomorrow, so I imagine I will make quite a few more of these little hexies watching the results come in on TV tomorrow night.

Oh Riel, i love your hexies!
And i agree, these little babies are so addicting!
Thank you so much for coming by and saying 'hi'. I always get such a thrill of having a fellow Canadian visiting me in faraway Cyprus!
Congrats on the novel! You need to tell me what it is about!
:)
So very nice to meet you!

This is a good idea! I have a whole package of those little cardboard hexes (I punch a hole in the middle of mine, to make them easier to pop out after the fabric is on). I also have a charm pack I bought and then didn't know what to use it for in reds....maybe I'll try a bunch of these and get inspired again!

Very Cool! I have never made a hexie! I would love to know how you did that! (If you don't mind sharing what is in the middle and how to get it back out! I commented on a different post about fabric I will be receiving this week and that same Lady gave me a stack of squares that I think would be perfect for this ....If I knew how!
